The legendary soprano Renata Tebaldi in live performances, recorded 1950-1953. Includes complete performances of Giovanna D’arco (Verdi), Tannhäuser (Wagner), Requiem (Mozart), and the second part of Rossini’s Stabat Mater. TANNHÄUSER is sung in Italian by the entire cast and chorus, except for tenor Hans Beirer (in the title role), who sings in the original German. Tannhäuser is taken from a previously unpublished audio source from Miss Tebaldi’s private collection. 6 CDs, 396 minutes.
