MAHLER: SYMPHONY NO. 8, “Symphony of a Thousand”

New in Producer/Director Jason Starr’s acclaimed series of Mahler performances and documentaries: Esteemed Maestro Neeme Järvi leads the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and a host of soloists and choirs in a performance of Mahler’s monumental Symphony No. 8, “Symphony of a Thousand”. A symphony like no other, Part I channels the ancient Latin hymn Veni Creator Spiritus, a call to divine inspiration, while Part II ascends into the mystical final scene of Goethe’s Faust, where earthly struggles dissolve into cosmic redemption. Together, they form a visionary testament to the power of art to unite heaven and earth.
