Interspersed with the commentary is a thrilling performance of the symphony with an orchestra culled from players from the Manhattan School of Music. The work is offered complete on a second disc. DVD 1 contains the complete one-hour documentary "What The Universe Tells Me: Unraveling The Mysteries of Mahler's Third Symphony", narrated by Channing, with nearly an additional hour of mini-documentaries that expand on the philosophical, biographical and musical issues explored in the film. The documentary feature offers optional sub-titles in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
