Karl Böhm leads the Vienna Philharmonic in an all-Strauss program featuring Tod und Verklärung, Burleske for Piano and Orchestra (with Nikita Magaloff, piano), and the monumental Ein Heldenleben (with Willi Boskovsky, violin solo). Böhm was a personal friend of Richard Strauss and conducted the premiere of two of his operas, Die Schweigsame Frau and Daphne.
